Topic: The Value-Driven Agile PMO
The Agile PMO - practical value-driven change leadership in projects and portfolios “The average lifespan of a company listed in the S&P 500 has shrunk by more than 50 years in the last century, from 67 years in the 1920s to 15 years today”… (Yale professor Richard Foster).
Conclusive research findings show that approximately 50 percent of Project Management Offices (PMO) are disbanded in two years. Yet, we repeat the same mistakes in our PMO implementations – wasting money, resources and most important – wasting time. We use out-of-the-box command and control PMO mechanisms to stifle our project management efforts; focusing on time, cost, and scope, rather than leading our projects to deliver value successfully!
In this presentation, we focus on the value driven PMO as an integrator, enabler, differentiator, and change agent in business, development and the organization in general.
We analyze the essential model for PMO value enablement supporting effective project management; answering the following questions:
• What is the strategic role of the value driven PMO in business?
• How to ensure effective streamlined delivery of projects and products? • How to effectively select and prioritize business opportunities? • How to become a bridge and enabler between team agile delivery and the control requirements of the business? Key
• How to become a bridge and enabler between team agile delivery and the control requirements of the business? Key
Key take away – a PMO must deliver value to the organization constantly. Value isn’t templates, tools and processes rather it is the ability to finish the right projects faster!

Dress for Success Women's Clothing Drive
The PMILIC will be hosting a Women's Professional Clothing Drive as a community outreach event to support the Dress for Success program on Long Island. This clothing drive will support the The Dress For Success vision of offering long lasting solutions to enable women to break the cycle of poverty by providing these women with professional attire to secure employment. Dress for Success is part of a global movement for change, empowering women to obtain safer and better futures.
What would you wear to a job interview? That is exactly the type of clothing we are looking for to distribute to our clients. Your fabulous suits and other professional apparel could furnish another woman with the confidence to enter or return to the workplace, make a great first impression and land a job that could change her life. Additionally, many of our clients go directly to an interview, so please ensure that all items donated are freshly dry-cleaned / laundered and ironed, not more than 5 years old, and suitable for wearing to job interviews. We gladly accept all clothing donations suitable for work, but larger sized clothing is especially appreciated. In an effort to go green and to comply with Board of Health Regulations, please place all donated clothing on hangers.
