Topic: Internet Newborn Screening Information System Transfer (iNSIST™) Utility - PMILIC Project of the Year
The Internet Newborn Screening Information System Transfer (iNSIST™) project represented a watershed moment for the Neometrics division at Natus. The application was designed to automate the reporting of results from state public health newborn screening laboratories to the National Newborn Screening and Genetics Research Center in Austin, Texas, the Internet Newborn Screening Information System Transfer (iNSIST™) utility is now successfully installed and operational in Alabama and Tennessee with additional states expressing interest in the product.
The project plan built upon the existing Natus Software Development Lifecycle while introducing several new processes and procedures that were adopted by Natus/Neometrics upon the project's successful completion.
Using PMI, Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF), and proprietary methodologies and techniques, the iNSIST project used a formal, bought into, realistic, and approved project plan to execute, monitor, and control the project to project closing. Special attention was paid to quality components of the plan, this allowed Neometrics to pass external audits of their SDLC and SDLC documentation.
The project was successfully completed on schedule and on budget in Q1 2005.
