President's Letter - December 2012

On behalf of the PMI LIC BOD, I wish you and your families a very Happy Holiday Season!

I am delighted to let you know that the BOD has grown by several members and positions so that we can execute our services and programs more efficiently. Please visit our website to take note of the members who participate as BOD members and Committee/Event volunteers. We would love to see more members join our volunteer ranks.

Several new programs have been initiated by the BOD. Please stay tuned at meetings and to the website for announcements and new opportunities. Our new Outreach Program Manager, Michele Citrin is planning some community involvement events and Diane Williams, our Network program Manager is planning our next Networking event. Stay posted!

One important note for our members who are planning to take the PMP exam in the near future: the PMBoK will be updated to PMBoK 5 in January and the last test on PMBoK 4 will be July 31, 2013. We will be offering classes in the Spring on PMBoK 4 so that members can be prepared for that July 31 date. Please let PMs in your organizations know about the new test dates.

PMI Global has been enhancing their Communities of Practice (COPs) offerings to benefit members. Please do take a look at the communications we post on their behalf on our website.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the December and early winter meetings. We do have a slate of good speakers planned.
