Vice-President of Programs
 The Vice-President of Programs is an elected officer position.  The VP Programs is accountable for the development and delivery of programs relating to Project Management for each scheduled Chapter meeting and for each networking event.  The content of these programs is to be consistent and in accordance with the objectives of “The Chapter” and with approval of the Chapter Board.  This position reports to the Chapter President.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Chapter
    • set vision
    • inspire others
    • manage expectations
    • empower & motivate chapter and board members
  • Lead the PM Chapter Meeting and the PM Network events team
  • Build professional working relationships
  • Promote communication and innovation with the group
  • Encourage an open exchange of ideas and information
  • Conduct regular meetings
  • Maintain visibility and accessibility
  • Work with other Board members to determine Board members’ areas of interest for Chapter Meetings and Networking events.
  • Ensure chapter meetings and network events meet relevant tactical objectives of the Chapter.
  • Work with PM Chapter Meetings to determine Member’s areas of interest for Chapter Meetings and Networking events.
  • Ensure Chapter Meetings and Network events avoid conflicts with PMI Meetings.
  • Work with VP Financial to determine annual budget for chapter meeting and network events.
  • Provide information about Chapter meeting topics and networking events to the President and Board members at least one month in advance to provide adequate lead-time to publicize such events and prepare for them. Chapter Meeting and network event notices shall be provided to all active members at least two weeks prior to the event.
  • Monitor and report on participation levels on these programs and provide input for the yearly Chapter reports to PMI.
  • Serve as the backup PM Chapter Meetings and assume responsibilities if the PM Chapter Meetings cannot fulfill the responsibilities for any reason.
  • Serve as the backup PM Network Events and assume responsibilities if the PM Network Events cannot fulfill the responsibilities for any reason.
  • Attend monthly BOD meetings, usually the fourth Wednesday of the month.
Time Commitment:
  • Approximately 20 hours per month
  • Category 5: Volunteer Service to Professional or Community Organizations
  • PDUs Number:
    • Minimum 3 months of participation = 2 PDUs per year
    • Minimum 6 months of participation = 5 PDUs per year
    • 12 months of participation = 10 PDUs per year
